Color
In brilliant garnet red with a purple core, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
As delicate as it is fragrant, this 1er Cru Pommard from the Clos Orgelot monopollage reveals its essence. The freshest wild strawberries, raspberries, red currants and cranberries promise the same immediate satisfaction as the first taste of a perfectly made red fruit jelly. A subtle scent of young spruce needles and cedar nuts, as well as rosemary and mace, give the wine depth while still allowing it to float above the glass.
Palate
Where Pommard, according to popular opinion, is often counted among the more rustic representatives of its class, this wine from Clos du Moulin aux Moines appears with charismatic finesse and clears the table. Velvety, yet character-giving tannins nestle on the palate. Unobtrusively, the 2015 Clos Orgelot caresses the amygdala and provides a sense of well-being. That there is so much power in this contented tranquility is something this wine will continue to prove with pleasure for many years to come.
