Wine information

The wine comes from the single vineyard Mas Les Planetes in Porrera, on which the Nin-Ortiz family has a selection massale from ancient Carignan-blanc vines planted on one hectare. After harvesting, the grapes are placed in the cool cellar for 24 hours, slowly pressed and then spontaneously fermented in the clay amphora, where the wine is also aged for six months. After that, it goes into the barrique for three months.

Nose

What an attractive and exciting nose this very rare Carignan blanc shows. The fruit is hardly dominant here, which is typical for the southern white varieties. But one definitely finds a little yellow pear, white peach and some unripe pineapple. To the charm of the Planetes de Nin blanc The fine caramel contributes as well as a light tobacco note and the mineral touch which reminds of rock salt.

Mouth

This wine offers a fantastic drinking flow. Everything is flowing, nothing seems ponderous, although the wine comes from a hot region. But the Carignan blanc offers a lot of juiciness and a surprising amount of acidity. In addition, there is the salt, which determines the taste in an inimitable way and provides for a lot of drinking flow. Again, you have a bit of pear and the aforementioned not-yet-ripe pineapple. However, this delivers just as tart a note as the citrus fruit that one also senses here. There's a hint of sweetness in the finish, which may come from the extract or even the alcohol, which - by the way - you barely notice. The caramel is also back and provides an additional charming note.
