Wine information
23 year old terraced vines planted with Garnacha and 14 year old Carignan vines in the climate zone of Porrera. The harvest took place under difficult conditions due to increased rain and covid from 28 August to 5 September with minimum yields of 19hl/ha. After maceration of the whole grapes for 4 weeks, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts took place in 3 large French oak barrels and a further ageing of 18 months in these barrels. In April 2022, 9432 bottles were filled.
Color
Deep black-red, colour-dense to the rim.
Nose
The 2020 Planetes "Classic" has an extremely charming aroma of sweet blackberries, black cherries, fine dark chocolate and oriental spices such as cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. The whole thing is accompanied by a floral scent reminiscent of wild roses and violets, combining depth with great elegance.
Palate
On the palate, we encounter a dense, velvety and full-bodied drop that combines ripe tannin with fresh acidity and distinct minerality. Wonderful food companion to aromatic and intense cuisine. What a joy, what a feast for the senses, almost a miracle how such a fantastic wine could be created under such difficult conditions.
