Out of stock

Its dense and expressive fruit convinces with fully ripe sour cherries, sweet raspberry and blackberry fruit, smoky notes, some truffle and noble dark chocolate. Distinct vegetal notes reminiscent of tarragon and elderberry pulp give it a refreshing touch.

Info about the wine

The west-facing site opposite the Turckheim burn benefited from the north winds, and despite the Pinot's sensitivity to powdery mildew diseases, the grapes ripened perfectly without fungal diseases.

Info about the expansion

In 2017 there were unfortunately frost problems and so only a 228l barrel and a 350l barrel, but of very good quality, were filled after strict selection. No racking and bottling directly from the yeast without filtration.

Color

Muted garnet red with delicate lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2017 Pinot Noir Heimbourg is a deep and distinctive wine. Its mineral framework is more than impressive.

Palate

Minerality, acidity and fine-grained tannin are also what we feel on the tongue at first. A wine that still needs a little time to unfold in all its Burgundian finesse. The fruit is still somewhat restrained on the palate, but the dark berry notes become more prominent the more air it gets.

An impressive proof that it is possible to produce Pinot Noir in Alsace that does not have to fear the comparison with wines from Burgundy. Bravo Olivier!

Food recommendation

Sufficient aeration allows this exceedingly fine and impressive Pinot Noir to win.

  • Hazelnut brioche with wild broccoli and pickled berries
  • Saddle of hare with cherry vinegar sauce, glazed beetroot and turnips
