Out of stock

It is impressive how perfectly the wood is integrated, how mineral, cool and at the same time warm and ripe the Grand P appears. On the palate, the still young Pinot is immensely complex and complete with notes of sour cherries and black cherries, raspberries and dark forest fruit.

Wine information

The two Barthelmé brothers are not only from the Revue du Vin de France but they won the prize for the best Pinot noir with an Alsatian Pinot noir in a blind tasting against all competitors from Burgundy. This clearly shows the importance Jacky and Maurice Barthelmé attach to this grape variety. They are convinced of the future of Pinot noir in Alsace and are planting more and more Pinot in their best vineyards. The label indicates the individual plots in the Pfersigberg. Grand P is the abbreviation for Grand Cru Pfersigberg. The full designation may not be written out, since grand cru applies only to white grape varieties.

Color

intense, slightly transparent cherry red

Nose

The Grand P is a distinctly independent representative of this Burgundian grape variety. It appears almost mysterious, dark and deep. It shows inviting notes of creamy, dark, almost sweet fruit, finest vanilla and oak as well as a little freshly wetted old wood.

Mouth

On the palate, the still young Pinot is incredibly complex and complete with notes of sour cherries and black cherries, raspberries and dark forest fruit. Even nectarines and vine plums can be clearly perceived and a hint of blood orange. It is impressive how perfectly the wood is integrated, how minerally cool and at the same time warm and ripe the wine is. Grand P ...there. He is still very young, but now already top class.
