Out of stock

Finely spicy with slightly animal notes and a dark character, the 2017 Pinot Noir Dachsberg from Birgit and Klaus Vorgrimmler is named after the badgers that live in the mountain of the same name. Slightly smoky, it combines notes of tobacco, leather and juniper in dark opulence with fruit aromas reminiscent of blackberries, cranberries and black cherries.

The Vorgrimmler winery is one of the pioneers of organic viticulture in Baden. The winery has been working organically for more than 30 years, and has been Demeter certified since 2006. Vorgrimmler's vineyards are located in the Tuniberg and in the Kapellenberg, west of Freiburg. On 3.2 hectares, May Britt and Klaus Vorgrimmler exclusively cultivate Burgundy, of which Pinot Noir (65%) makes up the lion's share.

Grown on the fertile loess soils of the Kapellenberg, the grapes are harvested by hand before being fermented spontaneously with our own yeasts. The red wines mature for 18 to 24 months in barriques. Unfined and without the use of animal products, the wines are also suitable for vegans.

Color

Transparent ruby red with dark core, bright and clear.

Nose

Finely spicy with slightly animal notes and a dark character, the 2017 Pinot Noir Dachsberg from Birgit and Klaus Vorgrimmler is named after the badgers that live in the mountain of the same name. Slightly smoky, it combines notes of tobacco, leather and juniper in dark opulence with fruit aromas reminiscent of blackberries, cranberries and black cherries. With light floral overtones, it is grounded by leafy underbrush notes and walnut skins. Distinctive type with a slightly exalted yet extremely stylish appearance.

Mouth

On the nose, it presents itself with juicy vibration. Like a lightsaber, the acid nerve shines as a leitmotif on the palate, to which all other components of this vertical Pinot pleasure subordinate The extract-rich fruit and the fine tannin, which keeps it in check as well as the skillful wood aging, which always serves instead of self-referentially accompanies the wine. Upright, straightforward and uncompromising with a fruity fresh finish and long reverberation.
