Info
Grown in limestone-rich soils near the cooler forest area on the Leithagebirge and the sun-drenched slopes on the south-eastern edge of the Parndorfer Platte with gravelly-sandy-loamy sedimentary soils. Cautious biodynamic cultivation.
Vinification
Handpicked in early September, spontaneous fermentation, left on the skins for a fortnight, gently pressed with a basket press. Matured in wooden fermentation racks for 21 months.
Color
Muted garnet red, ruby lightening towards the rim.
Nose
On the nose, the 2019 Pinot Noir from Heinrich shows juicy cherry and berry fruit, sweet wild raspberries combine with sour cherries, rhubarb and wild strawberries. This fragrance is further enhanced by peony, elderberry pulp, bay leaf and cinnamon. An honest, animating Pinot that you want to taste immediately.
Palate
It hits the tongue with beguiling freshness. Its fruit is accompanied by an animating acidity, notes of soy sauce and earthy components reminiscent of mushrooms and wild herbs. A vital wine, "power without weight", as the saying goes. These wines do not impose themselves, they delight the palate and serve the food they accompany.
