Color
This outstanding Pinot Gris Rotenberg is a feast for the eyes with its deep amber colouring interspersed with enchanting golden reflections.

Nose
With a maturity that cannot be denied, this 2002 seduces the senses with an unexpected freshness. A bouquet of citrus and elderflower is released, supported by expressive mineral accents that recall its chalky origins. Tantalising sweetness also runs through the aroma profile with notes reminiscent of both candied orange peel, dried apricots, peach compote, honey and beeswax. Spicy notes of coriander, soy, cinnamon and a hint of cedar give this wine its round and coherent complexity.

Palate
On the tongue, this wine confirms its refreshing and invigorating quality. Its stimulating acidity is paired with a distinct salty note and a subtle but present sweetness. It is inevitably an exciting wine that will both stand out as an accompaniment to a meal and positively surprise those who have yet to experience the pleasure of mature wines from Alsace. Grapes of the highest quality contribute to this experience, reminiscent of an excellent vendange tardive. Dominant minerality and honey aromas on the nose and lush peach and apricot flavours on the palate are just some of the enticing aspects of this wine.

Food recommendations
Instead of chestnut soup with caramelised salted almonds, you could also enjoy this wine with creamy butternut squash soup and roasted hazelnuts. Instead of the chocolate tart with sea salt and caramel ice cream, a dark chocolate ganache with fig compote would be a delight. As an alternative to the Sbrinz with apricot jam, you could try a ripe Brie with pear chutney. These alternatives allow the unique character of this wine to emerge beautifully and allow gourmets to fully appreciate its sophistication.
