Color
Amber with orange reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2008 Pinot Gris Selection de Grains Nobles by Zind Humbrecht is bursting with honeycomb, rusk, butterscotch, roasted nuts and roasted almonds along with dried apricots and Aachener Printen.
Mouth
On the palate, as expected, the wine shows its sweet side. However, the high residual sugar is excellently balanced by the minerality of the wine and the clear acidity of the 2008 vintage. A very contemplative drink that is suitable except as a soloist excellently to game dishes and desserts with high portions of nuts.
Food recommendations from Sebastian Bordthäuser
- Hazelnut brioche with pickled figs and Stilton
- Pheasant confit with quinces and nuts
- Turnip cake with hazelnut cream
