rich straw yellow
Nose
This Pinot Gris comes from the marly, sandy and chalky Grand Cru site Hengst in Wintzenheim, Alsace. The intensely fragrant wine opens with aromas of mellow stone fruit and stony spice, with a little marzipan mixed in, and with more air, mirabelles, orange blossoms and herbs also emergea, .
Palate
On the palate, the Pinot gris is ripe and juicy with lots of yellow, almost soft stone fruit and a great inherent power and depth of the wine. In addition to the almost quaffable juiciness, the spicy, bitter and fresh components are thrilling. Orange peel can be glimpsed here as well as cardamom and some candied ginger. The wine is melting, salty and remains fresh until the finish.
