Color:
Bright straw yellow, radiant and clear.
Nose:
Forgeurac's 2018 Pinot Blanc unabashedly flaunts fully ripe fruit, lush and unabashed, with an ethereally cool superstructure and vegetal herbal notes of chervil, anise and borage. Multi-layered and complex with a little bad boy attitude, the carafe and large glasses are ideal for domestication.
Mouth:
Contrary to all announcements, it is enormously disciplined on the palate. Taut and sinewy with a salty backbone, it doesn't do any fruity flips, but convinces as a structural experience. With good grip and finely woven acidity, it is coated with tart phenolic and delicate yeasty melt. Angenhem unverkitschter Weissburgunder with good pressure and vertical drinking train.
Food recommendations by Sebastian Bordthäuser:
- Parsley root puree with braised chicory, brown butter, roasted walnuts and pomegranate seeds (vegetarian)
(Vegetable & Vegetarian)
- Baked carp with whipped beurre noisette and creamy leeks
(Fish)
- Braised guinea fowl with chanterelles and blueberries
(Wildfowl)
