Location information
The youngest vines in this vineyard are about 40 years old and are located on a slope extending from Corton Charlemagne. The soil has the same organic profile , so the characters of these two sites are very similar.
Terroir
The vines were planted in the 1970s on 1.5 hectares and are located on a south-west exposure at 250-300 meters.
Information on the expansion
Hand harvest with a yield of 30-38 hl/ha, fermentation in barriques for 12 months, of which 0-5 % new, 4000 bottles total production.
Color
Light golden yellow with silvery reflections.
Nose
The 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses "Les Combottes" shows a combination of animating freshness and depth on the nose. The fine fruit of apple, pear and quince is interwoven with a delicate vanilla and toast note and cool minerality, reminiscent of wet stones and subtle sea breezes.
Palate
Silky and at the same time sharp on the palate, with taut, invigorating acidity that is refreshingly embedded in the bright and juicy fruit. A drop that demands the next with every sip and combines wonderfully with nutty and spicy cuisine to the absolute umami experience.
