Out of stock

Dark morello cherries, blackberries, plum jam combine with firewood, Mediterranean herbs, liquorice and a hint of green pepper. When diving in, one encounters a lot of juicy and fresh fruit, especially the cherry is extremely present and unites with a stimulating acidity, a polished tannin structure and a stony minerality that gives it grip and finesse despite all its charm.

Info about the wine

The hand-picked organic Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch grapes for this premium cuvée ripened on top slopes on the northern edge of Lake Neusiedl. The Zweigelt comes from the Leithaberg in Jois, the Blaufränkisch from the Golser Ungerberg.

Info on the expansion

Hand harvest and selection, spontaneous fermentation in wood, 20 months maturation on the lees in 500 litre wooden barrels.

Color

Dense garnet red, almost dense in colour to the rim, with violet-black reflections.

Nose

The 2016 Pannobile is a densely fruity, youthful-looking nobleman, as the winery aptly describes the cuvée. Dark morello cherries, blackberries, and plum jam combine with firewood, Mediterranean herbs, licorice, and a hint of green bell pepper. One immediately wants to dive into this extremely coherent drop.

Palate

When diving in, one encounters a lot of juicy and fresh fruit, especially the cherry is extremely present and unites with a stimulating acidity, a polished tannin structure and a stony minerality that gives it grip and finesse with all its charm. A full-bodied wine, absolutely on point with an animating and long finish. Pure drinking pleasure!
