Color:

Purple red with violet reflections and black core.

Nose:

The nose of the 2014 Pannobile from Anita and Hans Nittnaus is dark and rich in extract. Blackberries, stewed plums, blueberries and mulberries are spicy flanked by black pepper, allspice and cloves as well as dark chocolate and dark tobacco.

Mouth:

Despite the rich, extract-rich fruit, the cuvée of 50% Blaufränkisch and 50% Zweigelt is taut with a slender drinking flow. Muscularly defined with a massive minerality and a long, taut acidic arc, its ripe tannins give it contour and a fine tart component that marries harmoniously with the elderberry and blackberry fruit on the palate. Long, fresh finish with excellent length.

Food recommendations by Sebastian Bordthäuser:

  • Fresh goat cheese with blueberry chutney, bay leaf oil and wild herbs (vegetarian)
(cheese, cream cheese, wild herbs, vegetarian dishes)
  • Eel ragout in red wine with root vegetables and leek
(fish, eel, root vegetables, onion vegetables)
  • Venison medallions with cranberry jus and Jerusalem artichoke mash
(root vegetables, game, venison, soft fruit)
