Info
When the Vives family founded the bodega in 2004, their aim was to produce first-class wines. Particular attention was paid to combining the authenticity and terroir of the Priorat in the wines with an elegance that is usually found in Burgundy. Star oenologist Toni Coca has been supervising the project from the beginning. The own vineyards are cultivated organically, but first-class vines are also purchased from other vintners, since not all vines of the own parcels are old enough to meet the high standards.
The winery is located in the heart of Priorat in Gratallops. They pursue the most unadulterated transformation possible of the natural conditions in the form of wine.
2016 Pam de Nas combines the two most important varieties of the region Garnacha and Cariñena. The winery uses the oldest vines and best vineyards for this cuvée. The ageing is 100% in new French barrique barrels.

Nose
Trossos del Priorat finds the quintessence of its terroir in this cuvée. Pam de Nas is deeply dark on the nose. Absolutely dense and intense, without giving a feeling of heaviness. Red currants, cassis, elderberries as well as blackberries are on one side. On the other hand, green walnuts, black olives, cocoa butter and dark chocolate are rearing their heads. A little leather, acacia wood and juniper support this enormously. Almond blossom as well as roasted almonds and Mediterranean spices provide the crowning touch.
Palate
2016 Pam de Nas is made from the typical Priorat grape varieties, Garnatxa and Samsó. It presents itself like the "little black dress". A classic in women's fashion that is never inappropriate. Timeless. Always an eye-catcher. Pam de Nas seems to be wrapped in silk and the beautiful, dark fruit is coated with it. Full of elegance, intensity and charisma, it opens up in the glass and on the palate. Light-footed would be the wrong word for a Priorat. But it is not even remotely heavy. The cool mouthfeel and the fine minerality contrast with the intense fruit from the hot climate. The cool nights there support this effect.
