Info about the wine
SP68? That's the autostrada SP68, which winds through the Sicilian countryside behind the vineyard and whose signs mark the way in white and blue. The white version of SP68 is a cuvee of 60 % Moscato di Alessandria and 40 % Albanello. The vineyard is located at 260 meters and is characterized by terra rossa soils with chalk inclusions. The wine remains on the skins for 15 days after spontaneous fermentation and later in tank for six months.
Color
Muted golden yellow with delicate lemon yellow reflections.
Nose
The 2021 Occhipinti SP68 Bianco is characterised by oranges, orange blossom, apricots and mace. Clear herbal notes of fresh thyme and rosemary, along with ginger, emphasise its refreshing character. A multi-layered, stimulating and characterful entry into the world of Arianna Occhipinti.
Palate
Already the attack on the palate is fresh and animating, citrus fruits mix with salty notes and fine tannin. A truly stimulating wine to drink and, with a slender 12 vol%, the perfect accompaniment to food.
Be sure to decant and enjoy not too cold from large glasses.
