intense lemon yellow
Nose
The Riesling Federspiel of the Nikolaishof manages in every vintage to appear playfully light and yet serious and complex in its foundations at the same time. It is an expression of a clear terroir focus, in which stony spice, dry herbs and the scent of ripe fruit meet a bed of pear cream.
Palate
The Federspiel Lining the mouth creamily, it is rich in extract and brings "a mouthful" of juicy yellow stone and pome fruit. Nevertheless, it is not the fruit that dominates, but the stony and herbaceous spiciness, the light tobaccoiness and the saltiness, which combine congenially with the lively and fresh acidity. This is Wachau Riesling in its purest form.
