Nose
The 2011 Riesling Federspiel vom Stein exudes an intense aroma, the scent of citrus, pickled yellow fruits, such as apricot and mirabelle mingles with lemon zest and lily of the valley oil. For the 2011 vintage, the wine is animated with an incredible freshness that almost seems to tickle the nose a bit. Honey, sweet brioche and a subtle anise and cardamom spice underpin this intriguing first impression.
Palate
On the tongue, the 2011 Riesling Federspiel vom Stein is a wine that succeeds in bringing juiciness with fruit sweetness and stimulating acidity into perfect harmony. It conveys great drinking pleasure and flirts with its juiciness as well as with a fine bitter note, which gives it a stimulating spicy touch. The low alcohol contributes to the palate's desire for more and for the accompaniment of a cuisine that seems as aromatic and original as the wine itself.
