Despite its maturity, it already convinces on the nose with playfulness and immense freshness, reminiscent of green apple, fresh pineapple, passion fruit, citrus and orange zest. An astonishing wine that exudes youthfulness and verve and leaves the taster amazed and touched.

Nose

The 1999 Steiner Hund Riesling exudes immense power and exploding fruit on the nose. Despite its maturity, it convinces already in the nose with playfulness and immense freshness, which reminds of green apple, fresh pineapple, passion fruit, citrus and orange zest. Underpinning the overall picture are ripe mango, apricot and forest honey, as well as smoky, stony and earthy notes. Fresh herbal notes of wild herbs like sage, mint and nettle increase the aromatic tension.

Palate

When enjoying the 1999 Steiner Hund Riesling Spätlese, a pronounced acidity and a still youthful fruit are immediately noticeable on the tongue. The acidity is beautifully embedded in the dense fruit, its tannin structure gives it depth and power. With its saline and inspiring character, it practically demands to be accompanied by complex and aroma-intensive cuisine. A quite amazing wine that exudes youthfulness and verve and leaves the taster amazed and touched. It still has a few years ahead of it, that is for sure.

Recommendation

Decant imperatively and enjoy not too cold from a sufficiently large glass.
