Color
Bright, intense golden yellow.
Nose
The 2012 Silvaner shows itself wonderfully matured with apple, apple compote, quince and pear chutney. With oxygen, exotic hints of mango, gooseberry compote, rhubarb and star fruit are added. The longer it is opened, the fresher and more present it appears. The whole is underpinned by earthy mineral depth. Forest leaves, cedar wood, currant bush and beetroot underline its exciting character.
Palate
The attack is fresh and compact at the same time, the fine fruit pairs with perfect maturity on the tongue. Its mineral trait combines with phenolic grip and a hint of pepper and liquorice in the finish. An absolutely perfect companion to earthy and herbal cuisine. If it is absolutely on the point in the current stage, it still has potential for further maturity.
