Out of stock

You can bite this 2019 Traminer Natural with its juicy fruit of pear, quince, orange zest, its yeasty power, the delicate tannin structure and the distinctly salty note that seems to increase the salivation and drinking flow immeasurably. After fermentation, the concrete eggs are merely filled up, but again not sulphurised, and so the wine remains with the skins for over five months.

Info about the wine

The grapes of Traminer Natural 2019 come from a vineyard in the "Obere Schos" vineyard on Vienna's Nussberg. The soil consists of limestone and shell limestone weathered soils with a medium clay content.

Info about the expansion

The vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic guidelines, harvested by hand and, after careful selection, macerated and filled into concrete eggs. Here fermentation takes place on the skins, using neither sulphur nor yeast preparations. After fermentation, the concrete eggs are merely filled to capacity but again not sulphurised, leaving the wine with the skins for over five months. In March 2019, the wine was carefully separated from the skins and transferred to the steel tank. There it matured for a further six weeks before being bottled without any fining or filtration. After aging in the bottle for four months, the wine went on sale in September 2019. The Traminer Natural 2019 consists of half red and half yellow Traminer.

Color

Bright and intense golden yellow, with a distinctive copper hue and clear yeast cloudiness.

Nose

Yeasty notes are accompanied by exuberant aromatics reminiscent of dried and fresh roses, fruit bread, honey, cinnamon, clove and patchouli, but also fresh fruit reminiscent of oranges and quince. At no time sultry or even perfumed, it draws us directly under its spell with its lively, distinctive style.

Palate

You can bite this 2019 Traminer Natural with its juicy fruit of pear, quince, orange zest, its yeasty power, the delicate tannin structure and the clearly salty note that seems to increase the salivation and drinking flow immeasurably. Grandiose stuff that invites you to dream and indulge. Wonderful counterpart to creative cuisine!

Decant and enjoy not too cold from a large Burgundy glass.
