Info about the wine
The grapes for the Muskateller Natural come from a vineyard in the "Neuberg" vineyard on Vienna's Nussberg. The Nussberg consists mainly of limestone-rich shell limestone with limestone in the subsoil.
Info about the expansion
The vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic guidelines, harvested by hand, macerated after careful selection and filled into concrete eggs. Here, fermentation takes place on the skins, using neither sulphur nor yeast preparations. After fermentation, the concrete eggs are merely filled to capacity but again not sulphurised, leaving the wine with the skins for over five months. In March 2019, the wine was carefully separated from the skins and transferred to the steel tank. There it matured for a further six weeks before being bottled without any fining or filtration. After aging in the bottle for four months, the wine went on sale in September 2019.
Color
Bright and intense golden yellow, with a delicate rosé tinge and clear yeast cloudiness.
Nose
What an explosion of aromas on the nose - fresh grapes, apricot, quince bread and many fragrant bright flowers, hibiscus and frothy meringue with gooseberries, fine ginger spice and a beguilingly fresh scent, as if you were smelling directly into the open barrel. Freshness and liveliness determine this expressive drop, there is no mistaking it already in the fragrance.
Palate
The palate of the 2019 Muscat Natural is no less impressive than the nose. Lots of juiciness and power, exceptional freshness and creamy texture make the start. Plenty of grip and a delicate ginger spice follow, as we already noticed on the nose, as well as a long and pleasantly demanding finish. Top food companion and meditation wine at the same time, bravo!
Decant and enjoy not too cold from a large Burgundy glass.
