Info
The naked red comes from both sides of Lake Neusiedl. To the west, from the slopes of the Leithagebirge, where the vines stand on limestone and slate. East of the lake from the gravelly Parndorfer Platte and from the humus-rich Heideboden. The grape varieties are Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent.
Vinification
Organic-biological cultivation of the vineyards. Hand-picked at the end of August to mid-September, spontaneous fermentation, left on the skins for a fortnight in wooden fermentation racks as well as in steel tanks, matured for more than one year in wooden fermentation racks.
Color
Intense violet red, slightly clouded with purple reflections.
Nose
The 2018 naked red from Heinrich shows a lot of fruit on the nose, combined with beguiling wildness. At the start it reminds of beetroot, then blackberries, elderberries and sloe join in. Leather, venison, smoked raw ham, juniper, rosemary and thyme complete its extremely exciting aroma.
Palate
Its taste is impressive, juicy fruit interspersed with salty notes.
An unusual wine that immediately triggers gulping reflexes in the taster. Add hearty, down-to-earth cuisine - and you get the perfect feeling of great satisfaction.
