Info from the winegrower

70 % Muscat Ottonel, 30 % Pinot Blanc.

Deeply rooted in the sand-lime and mica-slate soils on the eastern slopes of the Leithagebirge as well as in the sandy-gravelly loamy sedimentary soils on the southern slope.

Vinification

The vineyards were farmed biodynamically. Handpicked in early to mid-September, spontaneous fermentation and left on the skins for 12 days, gently pressed with a basket press, malolactic fermentation, matured for 11 months in amphorae on their own yeast, bottled unfiltered and without the addition of sulphur.

Color

Intense and slightly cloudy lemon yellow.

Nose

The nose reveals wonderful fragrances of fresh muscat grapes, jasmine and elderflower, a hint of vanilla foam, rhubarb, ginger and aniseed. The yeasty orientation gives it a wonderful fresh note already in the nose. It immediately makes you want to taste it.

Palate

On the tongue, the 2020 Muscat Freyheit shows incredible liveliness, which is further spurred on by the low alcohol of 11.5 vol%. The fruity notes of the nose virtually flirt with the tongue and enliven it with the yeasty freshness. The long finish has a fine tannin that whets the appetite for the accompaniment of creative cuisine, gladly with fruity and spicy influences.

Shake before enjoying.
