Wine information

The 2015 Morillon Time Game 5 comes from Tements Sausal sites. These steep, south-facing sites are characterized by barren slate soils. After hand harvesting on 20.09.2015, the wine was macerated on the skins for eight hours, then gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged on the fine lees for 60 months in old piece barrels and bottled unfiltered.

Palate

On the palate the Morillon very balanced and resting in itself. 1TP7Wine needs time. How much is decided by nature", the Tements write. And further »Time Play is therefore more than a mere gimmick, it is the unconditional search for the perfect drinking maturity of our wines." This is exactly what this Chardonnay has achieved. It glides silkily over the palate, showing at the same time a very slightly warm component in the ripe fruit and also a cool one in the lively, silky acidity, in the dancing minerality and in the slate-spicy stoniness of this wine. Time has given the wine this wonderful balance that still leaves some fruit but focuses mostly on the elegance of texture and acidity. Chardonnay from slate, it feels like it only exists in the Sausal. Why actually, you ask yourself involuntarily, when you have this so harmonious Chardonnay in your glass?
