Info

The Mirgin Gran Reserva Brut Nature is based on the grape varieties Pansa blanca, Macabeu and Paralleda. The vines are located at about 150 - 300 metres above sea level, facing the Mediterranean Sea towards the southeast. The soil type is called Saulo and is based on sand as well as granite. The site resembles a narrow amphitheatre.

The harvest is followed by a short and gentle pressing and fermentation in steel tanks. The second fermentation takes place traditionally in the bottle and is rounded off with a minimum of 30 months of yeast ageing, but this usually moves towards 42 months.

The date of degorgement is precisely indicated on each bottle.

As Brut Nature, the wine is indicated with 0g dosage.

Color

Bright lemon yellow, green reflections, intense, small-bodied perlage

Nose

The nose initially reveals a hint of freshly chopped almonds and fresh yeast. The yeast also presents itself in the form of fresh almond plait and brioche. Never obtrusive, certainly not sweet. Always discreet and restrained. Salty almonds develop with a little temperature in the glass. Wonderful. White flowers like jasmine and daisy give it a delicate, filigree and elegant character. A little dried herbs like marjoram, thyme and laurel give the Mirgin Gran Reserva Brut Nature a fine herbal spiciness. The fruit is very restrained. Conference pears and white peach are only discreetly present.

Palate

On the palate, the combination of salted almonds and a crisp acidity, paired with fine smoky notes, is immediately apparent. The mousseux initially spreads across the palate, but is quickly dissolved by the onset of carbonic acid. Filigree, almost stony cool and elegant, it lines the mouth. The fruit now gains some upper hand and the spice recedes into the background. The almondy and yeasty note remains, which is wonderfully harmonious. In the aftertaste, it has fine Mediterranean nuances.
