The family that owns Alta Alella had already gained plenty of experience in viticulture in the Priorat, Rioja, Ribera del Duero and France areas before the winery was founded in 1991. In the same year, old vineyards were purchased, several new ones were planted and the old estate building was renovated. In the vineyard, from the beginning, the focus was on ecological cultivation. Of course, the grapes are harvested manually and in small crates, a process that only a few top cava producers can afford. All bottles are shaken by hand and bottled without dosage. The small remaining amount of sugar comes from the harvest and corresponds to the qualification Brut Nature.
