Production details
The production process of this wine is characterised by a careful hand harvest and a careful pressing over a period of five hours. Fermentation takes place naturally in stainless steel.

Origin information
The vines for this vintage were planted on with masal vines. The topsoil is rich in red sandstone, while the subsoil consists of solid red clay. The Reiterpfad vineyard has a warm and dry climatic condition. The full potential of this site only unfolds when careful soil work is carried out. In order to guide the roots into the red clay, which has an excellent water storage capacity, a variety of planting is essential.

Colour scheme
Carefully dipped in a delicate golden yellow, green reflections can be detected in the colouring.

Smell
As in previous vintages, the 2020 Riesling has shown itself to be accessible and striking in its youthful phase. With predominant nuances of apricot, peach, nectarine, pineapple, papaya and slight hints of passion fruit, the bouquet is decidedly fruity. Nevertheless, aromas of white pepper, ginger and various herbs also resonate, accompanied by a fine note of green tea. The deep minerality, which is known for the wines from this region, carries a multitude of aromas.

Taste
The mineral quality of this wine, combined with a vibrant acidity, makes for an intense taste experience. A powerful first impression is followed by a rich, fruity aroma. The long finish is dominated by a subtle tannic aftertaste, which harmonises perfectly with the juicy fruitiness and refreshing acidity and accompanies a desire for fine cuisine. Even more depth and structure of this wine will be revealed with time, so patience rewards with more complex enjoyment. Decanting is absolutely recommended!

Pairing recommendations
This variety of flavours goes perfectly with potato and pumpkin tarte tatin seasoned with apple cider vinegar, honey and rosemary. The taste of a grilled pike perch with lime juice, Ras el Hanout and turmeric mayo will also bring out the best in this wine. A curried veal cutlet served with pineapple and basmati rice perfectly complements the multi-layered character of this wine.
