Wine information

Rémi Jobards Meursault »Sous la Velle" comes from the Village vineyard of the same name in the east of the Meursault parish. Jobard owns a 0.78 hectare parcel there with vines more than 30 years old, located right in the heart of the village.
The Meursault »Sous la Velle" is vinified at Rémi Jobard with the same precision as all his wines. This also means that after spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits on its lees for almost two years, in Stockinger barrels and tonneaux.

Nose

The Sous la velle is Jobard's official entry into the world of the Meursault's. The wine from the southern vineyard is traditionally ready to drink earlier than the wines from other sites. It delivers a bright, precise and chalky nose reminiscent of acacia flowers, citrus zest, white stone fruit and yellow and green apples, a few lightly toasted almonds, a hint of wood and the already indicated limestone and some chalk.

Palate

On the palate, Rémi Jobard's penchant for elegance, finesse and precision is already very evident in this local wine. The Sous la velle is already quite accessible today, but still restrained. It needs air and time. Jobard wraps its power in a tight, tailored corset of precise acidity and silky, flowing texture. The fruit here always stays on the bright, green-yellow side, reminiscent of lemons, including salt lemons on the finish, and green stone fruit. This is already delicious, wonderfully tight and punchy.
