Until then, one enjoys the deep minerality of this wine, the precision and the saltiness that the wine shows, especially in the finale. This also means that the wine lies on its lees for almost two years after spontaneous fermentation, in Stockinger's barrels and tonneaux.

Wine information

Rémi Jobards Meursault »Les Narvaux" comes from the Village vineyard of the same name in the northwest of the Meursault district. Jobard owns a 0.67 hectare parcel with 50 to 70 year-old vines at 300 meters above sea level in the 13.44 hectare vineyard. The site partially shows bare limestone with almost no soil overlay. Les Narvaux is probably Meursault's most famous village vineyard and certainly plays on Premier Cru level.

The Meursault »Les Narvaux" is vinified at Rémi Jobard with the same precision as all his wines. This also means that after spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits on its lees for almost two years, in Stockinger barrels and tonneaux.

light to medium straw yellow

Nose

The Les Narvaux Meursault Village offers notes of just ripened walnuts and laurel on a bed of Meyer lemons, green pears and Reineclauden, garnished with garden herbs, fennel greens and a little stone. At present, it is reserved, even shy, in its bouquet, e.g. if you combine it with the Les Chevalières from the same house, which already seems so beautifully charming. But that shouldn't stop you from exploring deeper.

Palate

In fact, the Les Narvaux only a little on the palate, but then with all the energy and precision. The Chardonnay brings all the stony, chalky and powerful elements of the site to the fore and combines the pure minerality and the green to yellow citrus with a charming silky texture and a creaminess that adds a wonderful sensuality to the Protestant austerity. Here you notice that the wine still needs a good time to really find itself and bring its components together. But that is not surprising; for the Les Narvaux always takes a little longer, but then also later reaches the complexity of a 1er Cru. Until then, one enjoys the deep minerality of this wine, the precision and the saltiness that the wine shows especially in the finish.
