Wine information

Rémi Jobards Meursault »Le Poruzot Dessus" comes from the upper part of the Premier Cru site Le Poruzot , of which Jobard owns 0.51 hectares in the again upper part of the site and thus in the best part of the entire plot. The vines in this very calcareous soil are over 60 years old.

The Meursault »Le Poruzot Dessus« 1er Cru is vinified at Rémi Jobard with the same precision as all his wines. This also means that after spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits on its lees for almost two years, in Stockinger barrels and tonneaux.

Nose

The Le Poruzot Dessus Meursault 1er Cru shows compact and concentrated, firm and stony on the nose. There are notes of grated oyster shell and lime, some petrichor and a touch of flint as well as bright green notes of lemons, apples, green plums and almond olives. Only with plenty of air and some warmth does some nuttiness and a very slight creaminess show up. On top there is a little iodine along with sea spray.

Palate

On the palate the Le Poruzot Dessus as powerful as it is rich in finesse. Blood young but full of energy, it brings together a precise, stringent, punchy acidity and a vibrant minerality with green and yellow, even some orange fruits. The iodine, the saltiness, which was already noticeable in the bouquet, provides a lot of drinking flow here and underlines even more the energy and the electrifying, which the Meursault possesses. The slightly nutty and creamy, which also belongs to this wine, is hardly noticeable, but contributes to the complexity and balance.
