This also means that the wine lies on its lees for almost two years after spontaneous fermentation, in Stockinger's barrels and tonneaux. The 1er Cru turns up the heat enormously, pushing the fruit and rock forward, building pressure with a ripe and exceedingly precise acidity that pulls the citrus notes along with it, as well as the chalkiness and iodine that waters the mouth.

Wine information

Rémi Jobards Meursault »Le Poruzot Dessus" comes from the upper part of the Premier Cru site Le Poruzot , where Jobard owns 0.51 hectares in the again upper part of the site and thus in the best part of the entire plot. The vines in this very calcareous soil are over 60 years old.

The Meursault »Le Poruzot Dessus 1er Cru" is vinified at Rémi Jobard with the same precision as all his wines. This also means that after spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits on its lees for almost two years, in Stockinger barrels and tonneaux.

Color

light to medium straw yellow

Nose

The Le Poruzot Dessus Opens with a bright and stony mix of lemon zest and green pears, lime, grated oyster shell and smoky flint. Yes, there's flint on the nose, but the wine smells of reduction. That's not Jobard's style. Rather, green herbs and fennel greens mingle here, and with air and warmth, you can also sense the slight nuttiness that comes with a Meursault always also belongs to it. Finally, the wine becomes slightly iodine and stands delicately and finesse-rich in the glass.

Palate

On the palate the Meursault but powerful. No trace of delicacy anymore. But all the more of finesse. The 1er Cru Revs up tremendously, pushing the fruit and rock forward, building pressure with a ripe and exceedingly precise acidity that pulls the citrus notes along with it, as well as the chalkiness and iodine that waters the mouth. Again you find the nuts, but this time lightly toasted and intermixed with some almonds. The Le Poruzot Dessus is incredibly present on the palate, and that even for a longer time after one has swallowed it long ago. However, you have to force yourself to follow it; because soon you want to have the next sip on your palate.
