Meinklang is a family-run Demeter farm in Pamhagen in the Seewinkel region on eastern Lake Neusiedl. The circular farming system includes cattle farming for their own manure as well as fruit and wine growing.
Grüner Veltliner is an ode to the grape variety and its long history as an upright refreshing wine. Spontaneously fermented in steel, it is crisply dry with moderate acidity and the quintessential quality of being emptied in a rapid flow.
Color
Bright straw yellow, radiant and clear.
Nose
The 2021 Grüner Veltliner from Meinklang smells of yellow-fleshed fruits such as fully ripe pears, mirabelles and apricots. Spicy underpinnings of dried herbs and dried flowers make it look like a textbook archetype for the variety and its unaffected expression in the goblet.
Mouth
Straightforward, taut and clear on the palate, the juicy yellow fruit stretches along the wide acidic arc and combines the fruit with delicate saline notes and striking herbal spice. A stimulating drink for daily enjoyment, with or without reason.
