Wine information
The grapes of the Foam Volcano Pet Nat L-2021 come from soils of the former Somló volcano in western Hungary. Their grape varieties are Jufahrk and Hárslevelü . After the hand harvest, the grapes were transported to Meinklang on Lake Neusiedl, where they were pressed and fermented after an extended standing time. During fermentation, the wine was bottled unsulphured, unfiltered and unfined, and sealed so that it could finish fermenting in the bottle. The bottle was not opened again. This is why there is a danger of gushing! So please open over the sink with glasses provided!
Color
medium straw yellow, joyful perlage, slight cloudiness
Nose
The Foam Vulcan is a lively and very naturally fragrant wine with notes of grape must and cider, some hops and hay, herbs, almonds, crisp apples and pears.
Palate
On the palate, it offers the lively, punchy typical pet-nat perlage of a young sparkling wine. The extended ageing time provides extract and tannin grip on the palate, the yeast for a light and charming sweetness, the bright fruit, with some lemon and mirabelle mixed into the pome fruit, for freshness. This is Pet Nat par excellence, intense, uncomplicated, fresh and lively.
