Nose
The 2016 Sulzfelder Maustal Silvaner GG is a seducer with its distinct aroma of apricot, ripe quince, pear compote and sweet;bright flowers. It needs air, lots of air, then aromas of ginger, anise and cardamom join in, carried by a distinct and prominent stony minerality. In its youthful stage, one can already guess what great development potential it has.
Palate
The fruity and fragrant nose of the 2016 Sulzfelder Maustal Silvaner GG is followed on the tongue by a precise and mineral; salty-looking drop on the palate, which has a lot of grip, a refreshing acidity and a long finish. It will grow considerably over the next few years and reveal its full glory. The impatient would do well to decant it or to allow it a few days of opening in the refrigerator.
