Wine information
Cuvée of Red Traminer and Green Veltliner. Fermented on the mash in concrete egg.
Color
slightly cloudy, bronze coloured
Nose
This mash-fermented white wine smells bright and fresh of nutmeg, roses and lychee, giving credit to the Red Traminer it contains. After the first swing, it becomes more tart, a little boisterous and actually as you would expect from an orange wine. Apple peel and candied oranges here meet an apple juice fermented with aroma hops that trickles over a copper sheet. There are subtle yeast and light malt notes as well as some pine resin.
Palate
On the palate the Materia Prima really on. The wine has of course a lot of grip, so tannin on the palate, seems dry as a pin with a low pH, is lively and smoky, shows a fine but very lively acidity and notes of stone and licorice in the finish. Again, there is a slight hint of aroma hops and orange peel in the long finish.
