Info about the wine
The Grillo grapes come from vines over 20 years old and grow west in Sicily, in Contrada, in Samperi and in Marsala on limestone and sandy loam.
Info about the expansion
After a careful manual selection of the grapes, they are gently destemmed and softly pressed to start a spontaneous fermentation of a small part of the batch in old barrels and with a maceration on the lees. The remaining portion of the grapes is fermented on the skins without pumping over or submerging for 10 days in clay amphorae.
Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are carried out in an environment where the temperature is indirectly controlled. The wine matures on its lees for at least another 10 months in clay amphorae and used oak barrels until it is completely stable. It was neither chilled nor filtered again before bottling.
Color
Cloudy golden yellow with clear amber inclusions.
Nose
The 2019 Integer Grillo from Marco de Bartoli is an impressive wine, this is already noticeable on the nose. Lemon, orange zest and honey emerge. With the necessary oxygen contact, notes of lily of the valley and hints of menthol join in. Malty notes lend it a comforting depth and calm.
Palate
Fascinating is its dense and juicy palate. A wine that lives from a beautiful freshness and minerality, captured in a carpet of fruit, spice and yeasty components. In the mid-palate, distinct salty components come to the fore, in the reverberation again citric impressions that have a very invigorating effect. A wine to indulge in and dream about, which can stand on its own without any accompaniment, a true solitaire. If you want to accompany it with food, it should be no less intense than itself.
Not too cold, enjoy decanted from a large glass
