Info about the wine
What a beautiful terroir! We are in the hamlet of Champvent, near Chardonnay. The name Les Crays of course stands for the chalky rocks that one encounters here. The clay soil reveals these white limestone pebbles here and there. The vineyard, unusually on the otherwise east-facing Côte Maconnais, turns west to enjoy the afternoon warmth. Spontaneously fermented and aged in 500 litre barrels and Burgundian pieces for eleven months.
Color
Sparkling light golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Macon Climat "Les Crays" shows itself as a finesse-rich and at the same time fruity white Burgundy. On the nose, we find apple, lemon, quince and grapefruit zest, intermingled with mussels, sea breeze, lime blossom and anise. Delicate hints of the skilful use of wood with a hint of vanilla and cedar.
Palate
On the palate, we encounter a drinkable wine with subtle freshness and stimulating minerality. Here, an exotic aroma of honeydew melon and pineapple is added. Its cool, finesse-rich and at the same time juicy structure increases the drinking pleasure with every sip. Dishes with fruity components and slight spiciness love its accompaniment.
