Color
Bright lemon yellow, golden reflections
Nose
The Melon de Bourgogne does not reveal too much fruit at first. Apricot and mirabelle plum are restrained in the background. Some caramelised quince and apple compote. Above all, it lives from stony and Atlantic character traits. Oyster shell, sea spray and fresh seaweed clearly dominate the yellow fruitiness. Yeast plait, a little brioche and butterscotch point to a lot of wet stone and dried herbs can be discovered. Marjoram, parsley and chervil are revealed in the glass. The tension for the first sip is rising.
Palate
And on the nose, it exceeds expectations by far. The yellow fruit and yeasty notes make way for a slender but juicy sip of wine. Le Verger is characterised by stoniness, minerality and finesse. Very delicate and only underpinned by a delicate yeasty melt. The maritime aromas are paired with plenty of lemon zest in the finish. The effect is animating, light-footed and elegant. It fulfils its attributes as a food companion with freshness at low acidity and has a cleansing effect on the palate.
