Nose
The grapes for this wine come from 50-year-old, high-altitude Garnacha vines from the single vineyard Les Manyes, which is interspersed with chalky limestone and clay. Similar to its counterpart, the single-vineyard Cariñena Les TossesThis is a gigantic wine, which does not draw its greatness from compression, extraction and the use of wood, but from the perfection of the balance between power and depth as well as lightness and freshness. This harmony and simultaneous tension is already apparent on the nose. Blackberries, cherries, raspberries and coniferous wood, garrigue and lime condense into a complex whole.
Mouth
On the palate, the full fruit potential of the Garnacha is revealed - but in Huber's sense; for the fruit never stands on its own, is never really the soloist. The fruit rather forms the bed, the substrate for a clear garrigue spice, for a chalky minerality, for an ultra-fine tannin, for an all swirling and at the same time cohesive acidity, all of which run like finely branching lifelines through the body of this wine, which belongs to the very great Garnachas. Masterful!
