Les Bruyères

Les Bruyers Domaine

The Domaine Les Bruyères began its life in 1955, then led by Georges Reynaud. He planted 20 hectares of vines in Beaumont-Monteux, on a gentle hill on the banks of the Isère river.

Until 2002, the grapes of the Domaine went directly to the local cooperative. It wasn't until the founder's grandson, David Reynaud, changed the direction of the winery after taking over. At that time, he was 28 and constructed a new kind of winery that would serve to produce incredible wines, without any of the "artificialities" of modern mechanised winemaking. As early as 2003, the winery was converted to organic cultivation, and in 2005 it was certified as biodynamic. Today, the wines of the Domaine are world-famous.

More about Les Bruyères

The AC Crozes-Hermitage is the most produced wine of Les Bruyères with about 15ha. In addition, there are about 14ha of Syrah, 0.5ha of Marsanne, 0.7ha of Roussanne and about 4.5ha of Vin de Pays Collines des Rhodaniennes.

The wines grow in clay-rich soil of a former riverbed, interspersed with sand and stones. The grapes themselves go through a meticulous selection process, both in the vineyards and in the cellar. They are then destemmed and processed in a traditional vertical basket press before being transferred to concrete tanks or 16hl cement vats to mature.
