Light straw yellow with green reflections.
Nose
The 2016 Le Mont Sec from Domaine Huet is incredibly sexy on the nose. Spruce needles, iodine sea air and flint mingle with green apricots, small pears and greengages. Citrus zest, salt lime and unripe stone fruit tell of a wine full of tension and friction.
Mouth
On the palate, Le Mont is a taut, leptosome sipper, carried by its vibrant minerality and zesty acidity. The fine phenolic coats the acidity and gives it its grippy mouthfeel. Of fruit only pith, it seems sensory very dry with its polished, tightly woven tannins and smoky minerality and has a drinking draw with a nervous indicator left. Defined, disciplined, sinewy, a bit like Iggy Pop. Lust for Life!
