Wine information
Hidden to the south of the first Vouvray plateau and in overhanging tufa caves, lies the Le Mont vineyard, whose reputation is based above all on its historical importance and the exceptional longevity of its wines.

Information on the terroir
The nine hectares of gravelly soils and deep green clay provide the ideal conditions for a unique development of Chenin Blanc. This soil condition results in wines with exceptional intensity and minerality, paired with a refined structure and supported by a pleasant acidity.

Color
A medium golden yellow is revealed in the glass.

Scent
The 2018 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux presents itself with vivacity and power, coupled with a refreshing blend of quince, pear, apple and honeydew melon. Despite its maturity, it is not sweet but shows an invigorating and fragrant side. A feminine, seductive wine with a profound character that still appears youthful and is therefore best decanted.

Taste
On the palate, the wine bears witness to creamy fruit and sweetness on the attack, followed by a fine saltiness and refreshing acidity, accompanied by citrus and tart tones. As it progresses, notes of candied ginger, cinnamon and a hint of clove emerge. Despite its drinkability, it is clear that this wine still has a long way to go - its potential is impressive.

To enjoy this wine, it is recommended to decant it and to enjoy it not too cold, from large glasses.

Alternative food suggestions
Exotic soups with chicken and coconut milk, garnished with Thai basil, kaffir lime leaves, chilli and galangal go well with this wine. A crispy fried gilthead with lemon and basil also brings out the best flavours of the wine. For dessert, I recommend a tarte tatin with a touch of salt, marzipan and apricots. The delicate taste of salt and fruit will optimally highlight the elegant sweetness of the wine.
