Below you will find my personal tasting note on the wine.

Wine information
Our 100% Sangiovese grape Chianti Classico is hand-picked, strictly controlled and then carefully destemmed. Fermented and macerated in small steel tanks, without temperature control and absent of sulphur, explains the genuine character of this wine. Careful hand stirring of the marc creates an intense and honest connection between the grape and the resulting wine.

A year in French oak barrels also gives it a natural complexity. Malolactic fermentation is spontaneous and the fine yeasts are retained, stirred regularly to deepen the flavour experience. Minimal use of sulphur and eight additional months of bottle ageing before release bring the wine to its full expression.

Color
Catch the eye with a soft ruby red shimmer, speckled with garnet red highlights that enhance the shine.

Nose
The bouquet of the 2019 Chianti Classico is unmistakably Tuscan and rich - expressions of grilled herbs, earthy undertones, red and dark dried berries and cherries mingle to create a sensual experience. A slightly smoky, meaty note, coupled with a refreshing acidity, promises freshness and authenticity. A silky yeastiness and creaminess provides an elegant draw.

Palate
On the tongue, the experience continues to unfold with a creamy texture achieved through fine yeast ageing and batonnage. It binds the characteristic tannin of Sangiovese while retaining a delightful astringency reminiscent of its Tuscan place of origin. The tannin and lively acidity draw clear contours, while the juicy red fruit promises an enjoyable drinking experience.

Food recommendations
Try this wine with a juicy roast rack of lamb with thyme and crispy roast potatoes or a delicate partridge breast served with sage. Furthermore, it harmonises perfectly with a creamy pasta prepared with lentils and pecorino.
