Out of stock

Dried apricots, quinces and pears as well as orange peel and cherry blossoms show themselves only hesitantly, this wine is too young with grandiose potential. The wine has a high phenolic, the ripe, tightly meshed tannins give it grip and structure.

Light straw yellow with green reflections.

Nose

The nose of the 2016 Le Haut Lieu Moelleux from Domaine Huet is compressed, complex and in desperate need of aeration before the individual aromas reveal themselves as if through a prism. Dried apricots, quinces and pears as well as orange peel and cherry blossoms show themselves only hesitantly, this wine is too young with grandiose assets.

Mouth

The palate confirms that although this wine is already a pleasure to drink, its characteristics point to a distant consumption date. The wine is highly phenolic, with ripe, tightly woven tannins giving it grip and structure. At the same time, the acidity seems restrained, but gives it backbone and stability. Dense, complex and with high tension, it has a captivating sweetness-acidity game, with the depth coming from raisined berries rather than botrytis. A wine with staying power. Happy the one who has.

Food recommendations from Sebastian Bordthäuser

  • Ricotta cream with honey, dried rosemary apricots, candied sage leaves and salted nuts
  • Smoked tuna in pepper coating on tomato ragout with shallot confit and thyme oil
