Wine profile:
This charming piece of land, embellished with a small five-hectare vineyard in Vouvray, managed to capture the heart of the Huet family during a visit in 1928. They decided to buy it and thus founded the existence of the domaine.

Site and vineyard:
The vineyard now covers a wonderful fifteen hectares and towers over the plateau of Vouvray. The rich deep brown clay of Haut-Lieu puts its stamp on the wines, giving them an invigorating, fruity freshness.

Colour scheme:
The sparkle of a golden yellow hue draws the eye.

Composition of the aromas:
The 2018 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi Sec seems to flatter its audience with a charismatic aura. The clear fruit aromas of honeydew melon, ripe pineapple, quince jam and refreshing grapefruit leap out charmingly. A delicate floral melange of acacia, elderflower and lilac captivates along with a sweet harmony of floral honey and candied lemon tones. An enchanting, youthful face emerges from this exciting array of aromas, deep minerality and a hint of fresh ginger and coriander.

Taste on the palate:
This gem leaves a freshness and youthfulness on the palate. Its appealing and elegant sweetness is accompanied by a spirited and lively acidity and grapefruit bitterness. With its salty touch and semi-dry finish, it is still at the beginning of its drinking maturity and holds great potential for the years to come. Connoisseurs who would like to taste it now might benefit from decanting it and drinking it from a generous glass at not too cold temperatures.

Alternatives to the food recommendations:
A variation could be a carrot and pecorino fig casserole or scallops with grapefruit segments. For fish lovers, a roasted lobster with lime-ginger butter would be a real taste sensation.
