Info about the wine

Syrah planted on slate and granite.

Info about the expansion

No herbicides, chemicals or pesticides were used during the planting and vinification. The harvest was done manually with very low yields between 15 and 20 hl/ha.

Color

Muted violet red, black at the core with purple brightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2016 Le Clot has something wild and primal, a lot of earthy notes combine with dark fruit, such as sloe, mulberry, blackberry and dried figs. The more oxygen it gets the more it reveals notes of tobacco box, cedar and incense. Oriental spices, like cinnamon, clove and a breath cardamom are also in the game. The longer it is open, the more it changes from masculine to feminine.

Palate

Light-footed and fresh, it stimulates our palate and shows clearly more berries and cherry fruit on the tongue than in the nose. Finely woven and elegant tannin in combination with a distinctive coffee and pepper note give it structure and grip. Its low alcohol of 12.5 Vol% increases the drinking pleasure immensely and you can indulge in the Southern French joie de vivre carefree.
