Saint Jean du Barroux "...this could well be one of the next hot cult wines from Provence...", Robert Parker could hardly have paid a nicer compliment to the young, likeable vintner Philippe Gimel. His whole heart belongs to his wines and you can taste this very clearly in his wonderful cuvees, which are bursting with power, aroma and spice. They strongly remind of great Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. And this is no coincidence because after his studies, he worked at Château de Beaucastel. Even today, Claude Gouan, no less than the winemaker of this world-famous wine estate, is his foster father. He not only supports Philippe with words and deeds, but he is also involved in the winery. He was the one who advised him to buy the excellent vineyards around Barroux. The complex soil structure and the special climate make his wines unique.
