Info
The Privat Laieta Gran Rose Reserva Brut Nature is based on the Monastrell grape variety and stands at approx. 150 - 300 metres above sea level, facing the Mediterranean to the south-east. However, Monastrell is also called Mataro here and thus represents a connection to the capital of the Maresme region, located northeast of Barcelona on the coast. The soil type is called Saulo and is based on sand and granite. The location resembles a narrow amphitheatre.
Harvest is followed by a short, ten-hour chilled maceration period to extract the colour to the desired degree. This is followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in steel tanks. The second fermentation takes place traditionally in the bottle and is rounded off with a minimum of 30 months of yeast storage.
The date of degorgement is precisely indicated on each bottle.
As Brut Nature, the wine is indicated with 0g dosage.
Color
Delicate salmon rosé with orange reflections, fine perlage, creamy mousseux
Nose
At first, the Laieta Rosé lives from a sheer variety in the glass. Orange zest and tangerine skin set the pace. A fine scent of roses increasingly fills the glass. Fine nuances of blackberry, raspberry and elderberry complement this very successfully. Underneath, a fine spiciness slowly creeps in. Suddenly, some black and red pepper appear in the glass. White blossoms are now also mixed into the taste picture. A hint of herbs from Provence and thus a strong Mediterranean character becomes increasingly important with oxygen and temperature. Above all, rosehip clearly dominates the nose at the end.
Palate
Already on the palate, it seamlessly continues the impressions gained. It has a pleasantly warming effect and initially gains fullness in the glass. The mousseux provides a clear feel-good factor, which fortunately does not last long. The onset of well-balanced carbonic acid puts an end to this and provides freshness and elegance. This is clearly to the advantage of the drinking flow. The fruit is expressive. Raspberry, rosehip and elderberry stand out. At the same time, however, the fruit is always separated by the acid peaks. This Cava Brut Nature knows how to convince with precision and elegance. Its warm, Mediterranean heart is also on display in the finish.
