Info

The Verdejo grapes come from an old vineyard in La Seca, planted with 30 year old vines. The terroir consists of gravel. After careful hand harvesting, the grapes are pressed by gravity and then aged for 6 months on the lees in steel tanks.

Color

Light straw yellow, greenish reflections

Nose

Verdejo inevitably makes you immediately think of summer. Above all, it is a very good alternative to sauvignon blanc. The nose is refreshing and fruity. Lemon, melon, green apple, grapefruit, some lemongrass and lemon balm. La Pasajera also has a subtle maritime tone, a little reminiscent of the Atlantic coast and oyster shells.

Palate

On the palate, the juicy wine stands out for its clarity. The aromas of fruits and herbs reappear. Especially the lemon, its zest and some lychee stand out. A delicately bitter tone in the finish and the discreetly integrated acidity round off the taste picture wonderfully.

Food recommendations from Marian Henß

  • Deep fried soft shell crab, watermelon feta salad, mint
  • Cucumber cold dish with ice sea shrimps
  • Purslane salad with seafood
